Making friends is more often than not considered to be an important tool for survival. It has been generally observed that the more popular children are caring, helpful and willing to share. They normally keep their aggressive and emotional impulses under check and have good conversational skills. We can help children by training them in how to be polite during conversations with others,

how to be willing to listen while others are talking, fostering empathy for others and to be sensitive to cultural differences. However, bullying is one instance where the adults will have to seriously intervene. Children always want to be around other children who will not boss them continuously. Their guidelines are the manner in which we reach out to our friends. So, it will serve our children good if we make an attempt to be good role models in this regard.
